Hello Kitty adalah salah satu karakter fiktif berupa kucing yang popularitasnya telah merambah ke seluruh penjuru dunia. Hello Kitty berasal dari Jepang dan hak patennya dipegang oleh perusahaan bernama Sanrio. Hello Kitty pertama kali dimunculkan pada tahun 1975 di sebuah surat kabar nasional. Beberapa sumber menyatakan bahwa karakter kucing ini pada mulanya ditujukan untuk mengalahkan popularitas karakter anjing, yakni Snoopy, yang telah terlebih dahulu populer di Jepang.
